I had pancakes with strawberries and sausage links. To drink I had an iced latte. This place is nice inside and the service was pretty quick. The food items weren't the best I have ever had or anything but it was all tasty. The outdoor seating and the quality coffee and baked goods bumps this place up to a solid 4 stars. Definitely a safe bet especially if you are just getting back from the hospital which is nearby.
This is across the street from St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. I am visiting this city and came across this restaurant.
THANKSGIVING DAY MIRACLE
We're back in Rochester and the food is as great as last time. I also noticed this wonderful sign on the roof! How cool is that!
Hearty portions and friendly service. Wide variety of eats on the menu, you will definitely find something your tastebuds will enjoy. We're only here for a week, and we will definitely make a repeat visit.
The Hot Turkey Sandwich is to die for. A huge thick and tender helping of turkey. On either Vienna, wheat, or marble rye bread. Mashed potatoes and gravy. I am not big on gravy but this gravy is not to salty and it is delicious . Not to forget a serving of cranberries. I have had the vienna and marbled rye sandwiches. Both are great. Be ready to bring leftovers home.
They are known for their coconut cake - a light white cake with coconut frosting. The frosting is not to sweet and it mysteriously disappeared. The next day I had the apple crisp - thick sliced apples, cooked in a great tasting base. Soft oatmeal crumble on top. Served with vanilla or cinnamon ice cream. Garnished with whipping cream.
They have a great Minnesota made lager and full bar.
Great food and service . We have found a place to relax and enjoy outstanding food whenever we return to Rochester. It is a restaurant for people with varying degrees of of taste from breakfast to dinner and coffees to a well stocked bar. If you are planning to eat at a busy time you might want to call ahead or plan on waiting a few minutes to get seated (well worth the wait). Parking is available in a lot to the East of the restaurant.
First I want to thank everyone there who sacrifices time from their day and families to work there during the holiday months. We were thrown a curve ball and had to spend Thanksgiving 2017 in the Mayo Clinic. Luckily the fine people at The Canadian Honker were open and serving. I ordered 2 weeks out for 8 people and was not disappointed. Serving sizes were ample to say the least. Only draw back was when I first placed the call I didn't realize Id have to drive down the street, instead of the restaurant across from the Mayo Clinic, to the catering potion of their company. Regardless the food was good (only food my post brain surgery relative would eat, think about that, cant tell you who they are but knows good food), the staff at both locations were friendly and the gentleman whom helped me at the catering location even threw in extra napkins, plates, utensils, butter and a few condiments. From everyone of my family I want to thank you all for helping our family through this holiday.
