Speaking of the restaurant- they offer no discount to hotel guest to the attached restaurant. There is a 10% discount offered to guest for a bar located a mile away... convenient.
Good place to crash though if you are on a budget and want to be downtown just don’t expect much.
Old hotel located right in the middle of the city. Positives are that plenty of things are within walking distance and rooms have some character to them. Everything is dated and older in the rooms but they seemed mostly clean. The shower left a bit to be desired in terms of cleanliness. I would only stay here if you want to be right downtown.
The staff is friendly, the location is awesome, but the price you pay is for the location only. I highly recommend spending the extra money at a place that offers a breakfast and taking the free shuttle offered vs staying at The Days Inn downtown location and here is why-
Just everything is very outdated and dirty from over time, pillows are the worst, rooms are hot had to open window to sleep, showers are pretty filthy, everything is cheap in room, and so on....
The room is broiling hot with no fan or ac available to ALL guests. Even though there is a knob that should allow you to control the temp of the room, it does not work just like many have also said. 28 degrees outside and we have our windows, with no screen, held open with an extra roll of tp because the window does not stay open on it's own.
Great location, and friendly service. The room was clean, but very dated. The shower was hidden behind bifold doors across the room from to 'bathroom', which consisted of a toilet and sink. There was not any way to control the heat in my room, and it was very warm at night. If you want to be near the Mayo Clinic, you can't beat the location.
The room has a coffee pot, but does not come with cream or sugar nor do they offer any.
Location is great for mayo clinic patients, on a budget directly across the street from clinic. Staff was super friendly. The rooms are small but cozy older hotel i love that character will be back again
They charge the guests for a bottle of water... but hey... Ice is free on the second floor.
They do not have a breakfast available because they claim the attached restaurant doesn't allow them to offer a breakfast... That seems odd because I have stayed at many other hotels in Rochester with an attached restaurant that also offer a continental breakfast.
They get 1 star for location- if you're only going to be here 1 night, this is very convenient... but if you're here longer- nope. Do yourself a favor and call up the The Guest House that has an attached Famous Dave's. They offer all the amenities for a few extra bucks. ... and a pool, free shuttle, microwave, fridge, bigger rooms, and quite location. And no- I do not work for the Guest House- I just travel here a lot due to a very chronically ill spouse.
It's an extra $5 a night for a microwave and another $5 per night for a refrigerator. There are several other places that offer these in every room with no additional cost. This is ridiculous to charge for these- especially since we had medication that needed to be refrigerated.
It’s the cheapest hotel in a good downtown location but there is a reason it is cheaper.....haha.
As many have stated the rooms are very small and poorly lit. The pillows are lumpy because they have been washed many times. This is not an issue if you're only here for a day- but an extended stay you'll get no sleep. In addition to being on the main road- traffic can be easily heard all day long between 5am to 10pm. Oh and don't forget the train horn! That is fun to wake up to.
