This was my first time getting a Brazilian wax and my first time to this clinic and I will be going back AGAIN AND AGAIN! I felt comfortable, valued, and the woman who waxed me was such a pleasure to talk to. My service was done quickly and efficiently and I'm so thankful that she was so thorough with talking me through every step. Great price for a great service.
I advise you not to come here for lash extensions. I had my lashes refilled here about three times. I noticed that my lashes were coming out in clumps. I went to another salon and learned they were not applying lashes properly. These are not individual lashes. They are clump lash extensions. The glue and lashes they use puts too much weight on your natural lashes. This can cause permanent loss of natural lashes. I had to remove my lash extensions and take a break for a couple of months. My lashes were short, thin, and very weak. Thankfully, my lashes grew back. I will NOT go to Essence Spa for lashes ever AGAIN!!
I felt very uninformed throughout my micro needling treatment, and the "consult" was less than 5 minutes of me asking for options besides chemical peels to remove scars. While having the needling done, I could feel at one point that my skin was being pulled and almost snagged, so I commented on this, but it occurred a few more times after this. I was also told I NEEDED to buy a post-treatment cream, (which after arriving home and researching, this was not true-I could have purchased far cheaper options) so be prepared for extremely pushy sales at the end of a treatment. I absolutely hated the product I left with (a tiny, $20 bottle), that smelled awful and felt way too thick to even smear around on my sore skin, so I called the next day to ask about returning it. I was told that would be no problem at all, but once I arrived the next day to return it I was told they don't take returns, and the owner would contact me. The owner never contacted me so she must not mind that much about losing customers.
LOVE this place. I have had awesome service from all that work here. I have been a customer for 10 years and will continue forever.
I have never posted a review for a business however, I felt it was necessary in this case. I read the post sent by "Shelly Jones" and was completely shocked at it's contents. I was at Essence waiting for my appointment to begin. I observed an irate woman, Shelly Jones, verbally assault Jennifer. I read the statement in reference to pain medication written by "by her manager". As an Essence client, I, as well as all others, are given instructions prior to any procedure. If pain management is required, Jennifer has a medical doctor give a prescription for pain. The prescription is for four pills. If the client needs further medication, they are instructed to see their primary care physician. I believe this is for the safety of the client to see if further medical intervention is needed as well as prevent those that are chemically dependant from drug seeking. From what I gathered, this may have been the case? Jones was speaking very loud so it was impossible not to hear her discuss her medical history. Again, as an Essence client, we ALL fill out forms with our medical history and ALL sign waivers in order to receive treatment as is a common practice anywhere you go. It is up to the client to be truthful. Jones was demanding her medical records saying she has a legal right to them. Jennifer offered to make her copies of the records however, Jones was ranting so loudly that Jennifer could not get a word in. Jones did not "beg". She was obnoxious and overbearing. Jennifer was very professional and gracious. She was not belittling as Jones would like you to know. I was actually getting concerned for Jennifer's safety. Jennifer asked Jones to leave her business. This was stated, again, very professionally. Jones yelled she would be back later in the afternoon. I am a retired police officer and took her words and body language to be very threatening. Jones wrote she was belittled in front of the staff and a customer waiting. Well, I happen to be that customer. As I stated, I do not write comments for businesses, however, I was appalled at Jones' review of lies and felt the need to share the truth of that day. Thank you
