Sorry, but Rochester deserves a better kids museum than a converted Pay Less Shoe Store. Easily one of the most disappointing things about this otherwise very nice city. I mean, the museum isn't bad, per se. There's fun things for the kids to do. But after an hour, they've done, well, everything.
The museum itself is clean however there is very little to do. Half the exhibits are for 2-4 year olds and the other half are for 4th grade and higher. Anyone rating this place higher than three stars hasnt been to a worth while childrens museum before. The staff is a bit overbearing also, kids want to play not be limited in EVERY little thing.
It's great with larger groups. A little sad if your kid is the only one there. Definitely worth a look if you have a group of 3 or more. There are mice and fish here. Display could be better. Overall I would take groups of kids here. Would visit again.
Lots of fun. Yes, it could be bigger but it is kid sized. Kids can spend an hour in one little corner and have a great time.
We were able to get a family pass when they were running a special and we have already more than gotten our money's worth. We love that they change the front room exhibit fairly often as well as the back room sensory bin. My 4 yo and 1 yo always have a great time investigating and learning through creative play! (Some of the Google images are from the St Paul location, not Rochester)
