It was around 11pm at this point and I didn’t think anything of it, though when the cops showed up for me I was surprised. My pizza did come and I had it but I wasn’t aware I had ordered a side of police with it.

Upon check out, the manager herself was less than friendly and quite obviously would rather have been anywhere but there. To make a very long story short, I waited over 30 minutes to receive back my cash deposit. I was patient for the first 20 minutes, but I quickly grew impatient and that definitely seemed to speed up the process.

Everything was as expected. When I needed to extend my stay by a night I was able to, though I had to go to the front desk to get my cards re-activsted twice. The room was spacious and even though I asked for no turn down service I was greeted the second day with a freshly made bed. I didn't use the water park but I would hardly call a slide and a children's play area a "water park." All in all it was exactly what I expected. No complaints.

I received what I believed to be a really good deal on the Kahler Apache. It was listed as a 3.5 star hotel and it was very cheap through a booking site.

Not a single complaint. The staff that helped with the check in/out process was very polite and helpful. My room was very clean looking and smelling and was a good sized room in general. The $85 was cash well spent and I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I would’ve left 3 stars instead of 1 however something during my last night changed that, I had ordered a pizza from a local shop and they instructed me to wait in the lobby for it.

Upon arrival, I was informed that the hold on my credit card was going to be the price of my room for all nights booked, plus 15%. This was unacceptable to me, so they allowed me to leave a $100 cash deposit.

I went to my room. I opened the door and was taken aback at how ran down the place was. The doors were all filthy and looked like they had been abused for years. The room itself was fairly drab and shabby. The place looks more like a 2 star. It's old and ran down. There's nothing wrong with old if it's taken care of. The bed was what you'd expect in a 2 star, hard and uncomfortable. However, the pillows were the most comfortable pillows I've ever slept on. They were great. And, the air conditioner in my room worked great.

The breakfast was average, the bar attached to the hotel was nice.

The ONLY issue on the negative side of things that we experienced was when we checked in, she gave us a room on the second floor. We went up and unlocked the door and the beds were unmade and there was a coke bottle still on the nightstand. Would NOT have been good if someone had been in the room! But, the front desk lady changed us to a room on the first floor without question and apologized all over herself for the mistake. Our room that we stayed in was comfortable and fairly clean. The staff was magnificent as far as taking care of us. And, though our reservation was for 10 days, my testing at Mayo was done in four, so they checked us out without any problems and assured us we wouldn't be charged for the rest of our reservation. And, the rate they charged us was cheaper than what I had been quoted when I made the reservation! The manager even called the shuttle company and told them there were more people waiting for the shuttle than what the shuttle could handle, so that they could get a taxi over to us.

I would not stay there again and would not recommend anyone that I know to stay there.

All in all, it's not a terrible place for what I paid through the booking site. However, their deposits and incidental holds are ridiculous.

Aside from that my stay was pretty pleasant, there was one employee who was rude and continuously lurking around the premise and followed me around. The pool was nice as were the beds.

An employee had called them because I was in the lobby past 10:30 pm and said that it wasn’t allowed. Not once did I see an employee while waiting and if one had seen me they should have let me know I could not be in the lobby after a certain time.

They did have a shortage of pillows and blankets though, the first night I requested more blankets and they said they didn’t have any clean bedding.

I think it's believed to be a much nicer place than what it really is. There's an indoor pool with a water slide and a hot tub, a restaurant/bar attached to the hotel. If that makes it a 3.5 star hotel, I strongly disagree.

Overall I would say this hotel would be a great 1 night stay but nothing long term.
