Small airport so it is easy to get in and out. Convenient access to the Mayo clinic and hotels, shuttle is $10 so we didn't get a rental car. Warm friendly staff makes up for the blistering cold weather!
We were surprised by the airport, considering the care and attention given to the rest of the city by the Mayo clinic. Airport was small, semi functional considering that two of the 3 bathrooms in the entire airport were not working. Nice part was boarding.. Simple and easy Very little assistance especially considering that almost the whole city is built around such a world famous institution.
Had a solid experience flying out of Rochester for the first time, connecting in Chicago and continuing on to Mexico City. I usually travel out of MSP.
The airport is a breeze. They know what they're doing and the staff is friendly and helpful.
If i could give 0 stars I would. I was pulled to the side, search vigorously, and had my hands "swabbed" for "dangerous chemicals" which I have never heard of. I was profiled! I am of brown skin, with a full beard, BUT I AM 100% AMERICAN. It really hit me at home. I really hate the fact that I have to bring race into this, but they didnt stop anyone else from what I was able to see who didnt have a different skin color! This is really upsetting! When i asked to see the results from the x-ray, they quickly turned to me and said the image has been deleted, then proceeded to whisper to each other while giving me the over the shoulder look. Very unprofessional.
Everyone was friendly. Security guard made sure I was being served. Cordial airport security to access gates. The café had a variety of options and was tasty. Small airport, so short waits, can get little chilly in winter as gates open. What a great option and rates in general. Who would’ve thought we had such a treasure in our southern MN backyard. Will definitely consider this airport more often.
